BPSC announces test schedule for appointments of 1445 doctors in Balochistan

The Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) announced a test schedule for appointments of 1445 doctors in the province on Wednesday. The provincial government had approved appointments of doctors to improve health conditions and battle the COVID19 in the province earlier this year.
The process of tests would begin on December 14th. All the candidates who have applied for posts of medical officers B-17, lady medical officers will participate in tests. Tests would end on December 17th.
The BPSC has made all arrangements to provide required facilities to the candidates, a well-placed officer of the commission told Quetta Voice. Despite lockdown and second-wave of the COVID19, the BPSC in consultation with the government decided to launch the process of recruitments.

“Since doctors battle from the front against COVID19 therefore test schedule announced for them”, the officer mentioned. In Balochistan, scores of health professionals contracted the deadly virus in the line of their duties. Doctors, nurses, and para-medical staff put their lives at peril to battle the first wave of COVID19.
The BPSC would announce the interview schedule after conducting tests of candidates to ensure immediate appointments. The BPSC announcement has come a few days after the Balochistan government-approved contract appointments of doctors to battle the COVID19. The Young Doctors Association (YDA) had rejected the government’s plan.
Govt announced to recruit 3,000 doctors on contract basis
Bushra Rind, the parliamentary secretary on information said the government had decided to recruit 3,000 doctors on an ad-hoc and contract basis to overcome the shortage of doctors in government-run hospitals.
In the health department of Balochistan, over 3,000 posts of medical officers, lady medical officers, dentists, and specialized cadres are lying vacant for the last few years. This has severely affected the health sector in Balochistan to provide better health facilities to the masses.
